two little dinosaurs

This year for Halloween I did not have time to make cute costumes for the boys. I was consumed with finishing up birthday stuff for Samuel's party. So I was instructed by my husband to walk into Target and buy costumes.

Do you know how expensive costumes are????????

Well let me tell you...they cost an arm and a leg. Let's just say my bank account was crippled when I walked out of Target. But Patrick insisted that we buy costumes because there was no time to make them. I think he was mostly concerned with my sanity...well actually maybe his sanity...because of all the party stuff we were finishing up. I don't think he wanted me to add one more project to my plate.

So this is what we ended up with.

Two little dinosaurs.

You may be wondering...am I one of those mothers that dresses their boys the same everyday. Well even though that would be the cutest thing ever, I do not dress them alike very often.
The story behind the dinosaur costumes is that Samuel would not leave Target without the same costume as his big brother. He was not interested in Cookie Monster, Elmo, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Thomas, Superman, Mario, Planes or the many other costumes they had available for purchase.

He simply had to have the dinosaur.

Of course I was happy because I think they are so cute dressed alike!

Matthew quickly name the dinosaur Rex after the one in Toy Story.

With all of the rain we have had lately, our grass has turned a beautiful shade of green. It is full and dense and as you can see perfect for rolling around in.

Have you forgotten that this child runs everywhere?

Samuel does a pretty good job of keeping up with Matthew.

It is very difficult to get a picture of both boys smiling at the same time.
This is what we normally end up with...

or this...

So a lot of times I just take separate pictures of them.
 Voila!

Magnifico!

Once Samuel put on his Rex, he did not let go of him. If that dinosaur were real, it would have suffocated.

Trick or treating here we come!

Can you sense his excitement?

"Come on Samuel!"

There ended up not being many houses on our street giving out candy so we packed up and went to a different neighborhood. The boys had a great time. Samuel, our little observer, just watched as the kids walked by. We had to usher him to each door because he was so busy taking it all in. Matthew spent his time telling the people what kind of candy he had already received and that he did not like the candy they were giving him. I would expect nothing less from that child! (Right Natalie) :) Good times!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

pumpkin patch

This year we finally got our acts together and made it to the pumpkin patch. I had wanted to go in years past but never got around to it.

There were so many pumpkins. The boys ran around and jumped off platforms and picked up as many pumpkins as they could.

Have I ever told you that I think our son Samuel is just gorgeous?

Matthew is learning to count to 100.  He was so proud to be able to count all of the pumpkins on this brick wall.  I think there were 67 in all.

I am not sure what they are looking at...

Samuel likes to do everything Matthew does...including jumping off of everything.

I am so proud to be the mother of these two boys. They are as sweet as the pumpkin bread I plan to bake with all of the pumpkins we brought home!

Happy Fall everyone!!!

brothers

I love having two boys.

Samuel follows Matthew everywhere and tries to do everything just like him. Whether it is walking, running, making faces, screaming, jumping off of things, climbing, it has to be just like big brother. Samuel adores Matthew and vice versa.  I feel really lucky that they love each other so much.

Today was a glorious day...it would have been sinful to stay indoors...so I took the boys to the zoo.  We had so much fun and the boys were especially attached to each other.

Before we walked into the zoo, I asked them to stand next to each other so that I could take their picture. I had no idea of what I would capture...

These boys are so sweet! Makes my heart melt.

Holding hands walking on the rock wall. Matthew is telling Samuel to be very careful.

Here they are waiting for me to put the camera away and join them at the Gibbons.

Then we walked toward the lions. I am sure you are wondering if I prompted all of this hand holding. Nope.

This is the only way two little boys can view the meerkats.

Then we back tracked to the komodo dragon.
Samuel looks like he is hanging on for dear life!

Next we saw the stone horses.

Samuel was not really up for riding with Matthew, but Matthew insisted so Samuel went along with it.

Jumping on the musical squares tohether.

You can see how Samuel sits just like Matthew. He does this all of the time. He tried to in the picture above this one but could not get balanced on his feet so he settled for sitting.

Here they are on a rock wall watching a go-cart go by. Ahhh the fascination.

Last but not least, we played on the playground.

We had a full day with lots of smiles and laughs, hugs and hand holding. The weather was perfect and so were my two boys.
